Charlie, a professor of criminal psychology at the university, has been haunted by nightmares for years- his deceased mother clad in bloodstained clothes, lingers in his dreams, refusing to leave. He has devoted all his energy to assisting the police in tracking down her killer- the elusive serial murderer known as "The Falcon." The trauma of his childhood and his sense of aimlessness in adulthood often make him feel as though he is wandering alone through a dark, fog-filled canyon, with no path forward and only solitude surrounding him.
